Sang Bujana - The Ministry of Social Affairs Family Hope Program (PKH) of the Republic of Indonesia has a strategic program nationally.
The program takes a big theme, Familiy Development Session (FDS). The activity to improve the quality of poor families is done through family capacity building meetings ( P2K2 ).
This meeting has the aim that the poor who have received assistance from the government can open access to improve soft skills. The meeting that must be held every month has an agenda that has been standardized in such a way. The executors of this routine activity are social assistants formed in each sub-district.
This meeting activity provides education to poor parents how to educate children, manage family finances, look after elderly people and people with disabilities.
The government through the Ministry of Social Affairs sees that the need for access to education for the poor is very limited. This can be seen from the lack of education and the limited income of the poor so that there is a need for assistance to the community. In addition to assistance in the form of social assistance in the form of money, other assistance in the form of applicative education and can be practiced directly is very necessary.
The poor who have limited income do not have the budget to increase the knowledge they really need. These groups of people spend more time looking for additional income in the hope that their economic conditions will increase. They are not aware that, increasing economic conditions are strongly influenced by their increased knowledge. Therefore the Hope Family Program is here to assist them in opening access and minimizing their difficulties in getting proper education.
At this family capacity building meeting, poor families can learn how to improve their economic conditions, learn how to overcome and control emotions, improve morale in facing unexpected situations, and change thinking patterns for the better. The government's hope for these poor families benefiting from social assistance, these poor families can be independent and empowered after they get education in family development sessions. So in the end, Indonesian society is free from the trap of poverty.
